It may still be March here in Portland but it's spring in my heart (and art!) This is #1 in a series of two watercolor crystal paintings of flowers in blue pots. Great as a set! Watercolor crystals and their use in painting is relatively new. I've been farting around with them for several years now and, although they are almost as uncontrollable as alcohol ink, just like alcohol ink they produce super-vivid colors! I may not be taking foxglove like Van Gogh but I still like my colors bright and popping! In Oregon it became imperative in the gray winters and rainy springs to keep color around you at all times to stave off the lunatic fringes of the mind. (and to keep from cutting your ears off -yikes! My hearing is bad enough.)
